Torbay Labour call for an annual music and comedy festival

Andy Symons, Chair of Torbay Labour Party, has called for an annual music, culture and comedy festival to be held in Torbay.

Torbay has always been a destination for families and whilst others in the Bay want to focus on the luxury end of the market, especially around the harbour areas, Labour’s plans are very different.

A festival would enable us to showcase local acts, promote home-grown talent and would bring back to life many of our open spaces.  As well as prime venues for larger headline acts, Torbay also has a wide range of other parks, community venues, and open spaces which would welcome the chance to be part of hosting the festival.

We have a brilliant Community Radio station, arts & cultural groups and a growing social enterprise sector.  A festival would help bring all these activities together.

Too often we see community ideas hijacked and dominated by the same people.  Torbay Labour would give a voice to those who are so often ignored.
